ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

Image
Hello everybody! Today I will talk about my experience learning English virtually at university. First of all, to mention that English has never been my strong suit, it has never been very good for me and in fact it costs me a lot. I think that the virtual format makes it even more difficult for me to learn, in fact, I would say that it costs me even more. Regarding Blogs, I think it is a good way to actively follow the course, since you must make a publication every week, which forces you to be aware. In the same way, I really like reading the blogs of my colleagues, knowing what they think, what they study, etc. That is why I think it is a good format to reinforce the contents and at the same time generate interactions between the students themselves. Regarding my English I think I have many things to improve from pronunciation, writing and above all practice. Since I don't have so much time, I can't make it compatible in my day-to-day life, which is why I consider it a chal...

Changes to my Study programme

Hello partners! Today I will talk to you about the changes I would make to my study program. Well first of all I want to mention that I study sociology. I consider mainly that the aspect of the subjects is very well equipped, I believe that the branches of the first years are in accordance and above all they achieve a great adaptation to the university world, in addition to introducing very well what the career is about. On the other hand, if I consider that our career lacks branches that are linked even more with the practice of our knowledge, since for the most part, they are all theoretical branches that many times would be better understood by going to the field. Above all, seeking to have a more enriching experience and demonstrate that in sociology it is really important to connect with people and environments. Regarding infrastructure, I believe that the university offices do not have their own identity, it is necessary for us as students to intervene in it, whether they ar...

Postgraduate Studies

Image
Hello partners! Well mainly I have not thought much about the future in terms of studies by themes of the pandemic. In the same way, I would like to continue specializing in my career (sociology), depending on the subject that interests me later. For now, more than a course, if I have the possibility, I would do a master's degree in search of deepening my knowledge. I would like to take it in Chile, but if the possibility of going abroad comes out, I would think about it. I would like to study mainly without a pandemic haha, I think it is essential that it be in a face-to-face way to cover the gaps in content that I have had in this time. Well and being a magister I think it would be part time to work in parallel while taking it. Well thanks to the above, I think that my main priority when I graduate will be to find work and be financially stable to take the master's degree, since they are quite expensive, in addition to the fact that I would like to become independent in the ...

reflection on my future job

Image
Hello partners! First of all I am studying sociology. This is why I project myself in this same discipline, ideally it would be in the teaching area, taking classes within this same career, since I really like pedagogy and teaching other people my knowledge. Knowing that the academic world is very small and difficult to enter, I see myself in a few years specializing, I still am not very clear about my area, but the area of education and psychology draws my attention. It is not one of my objectives to travel for my work, perhaps to specialize abroad to gain more experience and new experiences. Regarding salary, I do not expect much, the truth is a career that has a lot of work field but at the same time there are many professionals so there is a lot of demand and not very good salaries. Anyway, I love what I study and I hope to achieve the goals I set for myself.

My favorite movie

I have always liked the cinema, I find it too entertaining as well as having a good time, you can see fabulous things in 1 or 2 hours. My favorite genres include suspense, comedy, and romance. One of my favorite movies is "The Truman Show", by the way, I recommend it !! It is a film that manages to generate a great criticism of many aspects of life, its main character is the famous Jim Carrey where throughout the film a fictional city is simulated in which this character is born and develops, being a "normal ", but at the same time his life is a lie that takes place in a television studio (which has a successful audience), where all people are actors who simulate this normality. That is why the plot consists of how Truman manages to discover this false life that I always lead, realizing this great lie. I think it is a great film to understand aspects of today's society and how we interact with each other, customs and vices. And above all it leaves us with a grea...

My life in pandemic

Image
First of all, I consider that the pandemic has been something that I never thought would last so long, I always saw it as something temporary, and with the passage of time I believe that every day I see myself more pessimistic about the subject. In the sense of feeling the real weight of the confinement, but at the same time I feel optimistic thinking every day that this will already happen. In my family it was difficult for us to adapt, since our apartment is small and we were not used to living so long in a small space. Despite this, the first weeks were the worst due to the uncertainty of the pandemic. But today we are already quite adapted and well organized with housework. As I said before, I don't spend much time at home, since I love going out with my friends and seeing new places. Which was one of the main activities that I stopped doing, but if I can highlight that I have discovered new activities such as reading every night, discovering new drawing techniques, which is s...

My favorite holiday

My favorite vacations were the summer of 2019, to Cajón del Maipo. It was a trip that we made with friends, where we went camping for four days in a sector called "the forest of witches." It was an unforgettable experience, since we managed to find a very good location where our tents faced right next to the Maipo river. Among the things we did was bathe every day in the pools that were formed, in addition to touring the place during the afternoon to see the sunset. One of the funniest things was staying up at night making a bonfire and talking to each other. Enjoying the landscape and its tranquility.
